SIMAD welcomes academic and administrative staff from partner universities participating in Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM). Incoming staff mobility provides opportunities for visiting academics and professionals to engage in teaching activities, training programs, and academic collaboration while experiencing the academic environment at SIMAD.

Staff members must be nominated by their home university under an Erasmus+ mobility agreement. The partner university submits the nomination to the Office of International Cooperation.
The visiting staff member prepares a Mobility Agreement for Teaching or Training in coordination with the host faculty or department at SIMAD. This agreement outlines the planned teaching or training activities during the mobility period.
Once your mobility plan has been reviewed and approved, SIMAD University issues an official invitation or confirmation letter.

Before travelling, check the visa and entry requirements that apply to your visit with Somalia’s Immigration and Citizenship Agency. Complete any required visa application before departure.

Incoming students have the opportunity to study at SIMAD for a short academic period, experience a new academic environment, and engage with students and faculty in an international academic setting.

Students coming from non-English speaking countries must provide proof of English language proficiency at B2 level.

Incoming students may study at SIMAD for one semester or a full academic year, depending on the mobility agreement with their home university.

The Learning Agreement defines the courses that will be taken during the mobility period.
International students may require a visa depending on their nationality. Students are advised to apply for a Somali visa through the Somalia e-Visa (eTA) system prior to arrival https://etas.gov.so/ . An official Letter of Acceptance will be provided by SIMAD to support the visa application.
We understand the importance of a comfortable living environment for successful academic and cultural experience. The Office of International Cooperation provides support in arranging accommodation options for incoming students. Available options include:
Students may stay at the SIMAD Guest House during their mobility period.
Accommodation can also be arranged in nearby hotels/Dorms located in safe areas of Mogadishu.
Upon arrival, incoming students will receive support from the Office of International Cooperation. An orientation session may be organized to introduce students to the university, academic procedures, and campus services. Students will also have the opportunity to meet faculty members and become familiar with the academic environment.
